Help me Guys.......A friend of mine continues

to lose thousands and thousands of dollars using Marco D'Angelos Sports Unlimited and Phil Steele's Northcoast selections year after year.............this has been going on since the early nineties.......I keep harping at him over and over again that these guys are just slick marketing men lookings for suckers like him and others...........to no avail he never listens to me..........so tonight he calls me up to see if I can get him Northcoasts selections for tomorrow.......this is after he dropped $800 on Phils game of the yr today on Pittsburgh......and yes he has lost the last 4 games of the yr that northcoast has released...........

I am just at my wits end with him but since he is such a good friend I feel obligated to help him in some way. I have consistently told him that there are better cappers right here and he should go out and buy a computer but he still thinks these guys are god or something because they have these slick daily phone lines where they hype there next big play and as you guys know there is always the next big play..........I swear he is addicted to calling these free phone calls day after day............you know they are always going to be promoting something........thats the real purpose of the phone lines........

Whats frustrates me the most is that if a person(him) keeps losing and losing doing the same thing dont you think he would have the sense to at least try something different and admit to himself this way is never going to work?????

Maybe you guys could give me some advice to give him and I will let him read this post.............Thanks

Just some advise of someone who works with those who have addictions. First I hope your friend is not you. If so you should know what to do.

If it is your friend you should not enable him with the picks. People need to hit bottom before realizing they have an issue. It is admirable you want to help but most do not want the help from others. The thrill of the victory is only a small comparison to the depression of a loss. He is trying for that gratification that will never meet his expectations.
my opinion is that this person is not a gambler to make money but a gambler to feed his addiction.

He needs to stop but if you cannot get him to ( which will be an almost impossible task) try to get him to lower his bets so all is not lost before he loses everything. GA is a great resource and if you cannot get him to go he will inevitably be going after he has no choice.

Just my opinion......... nothing he can read here that will take care of his problem. although I love the forum as it keeps me in perspective as I never would let playing as I call it get in the way of family or any other reponsibilities...........

also I might add that he should never follow services or pay for picks...it is a complete and utter ripoff.. They give half there people one side and half the other side then the side that wins they show them how GREAT they are in picking wins...the other side they give "free picks" and reverse the sides again..


pathetic....first he needs to stop wit hthe pay for picks...then he needs to call gamblers anonomyus. good luck on what he decides to do
